Privacy Policy

Verso is a photo library that runs on your own devices. There is no Verso account, no Verso server, and no analytics. This policy describes what the app does with your information, which is very little.

What Verso collects

Nothing is collected by us. Verso has no sign-up, no sign-in, and no way to send your data anywhere we could read it. We do not receive your photographs, your tags, your library names, your device identifiers, your location, or any usage or diagnostic data.

Where your photographs live

Photographs you import, the tags you give them, and the libraries you organise them into are stored on your device. If iCloud is switched on for Verso, they are also stored in your own iCloud account and synchronised between your iPhone, iPad and Mac by Apple’s CloudKit. That data sits in your private iCloud database, under your Apple Account, governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. We have no access to it.

Turning iCloud off for Verso keeps everything on the device it was imported to.

Network access

Verso talks to iCloud and to nothing else. It contains no networking code of its own. Specifically:

• No third-party SDKs: no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no attribution or tracking libraries of any kind.
• No remote configuration: nothing is fetched at launch that could change what the app does.
• Tag suggestions are produced on your device by Apple’s Foundation Models framework. They involve no network request, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
• The app’s push notification entitlement is used only for CloudKit’s silent notifications that your own data has changed on another of your devices.

Tracking

Verso does not track you. It does not use the Advertising Identifier, does not build a profile, and never shares data with data brokers or advertisers — because it never has your data to share.

Hidden libraries

A library can be placed behind Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. This hides the library within the app; it does not encrypt the photographs, which remain stored like any other file on your device and in your iCloud. The app says so in its own interface, and it is repeated here so there is no confusion about what that setting does.

Children

Verso is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Deleting your data

Deleting a photograph or a library in Verso removes it from the device and, where iCloud is enabled, from your iCloud database. Deleting the app removes its local data. iCloud data can also be removed from Settings on your device, under your Apple Account. There is nothing for you to ask us to delete, because we hold nothing.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be described in the app’s release notes.

App Store Connect needs this page’s public URL in the app’s Privacy Policy URL field, and its answers must match the App Privacy questionnaire — which for Verso is “Data Not Collected”.
